HOW TO SECURE YOUR FUTURE
If you joined us for our beginning of the New Year fasting and prayer, as suggested by Pastor Bob in our January Bulletin and during worship services throughout the month, you should be feeling invigorated and empowered for a successful new year. You have invested in renewing your mind (Philippians 3:13-14) and girding yourself with the shield of faith to jump start 2012.
One of our goals for 2012 should include spending more time with God. Exercising a clever take off from one of the political mantras that has been tossed around in the current political scene (the 9 – 9 - 9 Plan), Pastor Bob exhorts us to think 5 5 5! Who can make sense of many of the political campaign promises and much of the political rhetoric that is being touted. Unlike campaign promises, we can rest assured and feel confident that Pastor Bob’s “5 – 5 - 5 Plan” makes much better sense and offers rewards that are “out of this world!” All of God’s promises are true and best! Trust God and not man! (Psalm 146:3)
To maximize benefits and make the 5 - 5 - 5 Plan more effective for you, try 5 – 5 – 5 in the morning, mid-day, and in the evening. If you are able to do all three, you will have given the Lord 45 minutes of your time each day. Join us as outlined below for 5 – 5 – 5 and reap the benefits of quality time with God!
5 Minutes Reading the Bible Daily.
5 Minutes Meditating on the Lord and on the Scriptures you have read for the day.
5 Minutes Praying, thanking the Lord for His goodness and bountiful blessings, and asking God for guidance for the day and remainder of the week.
Although Christmas is over, the season for giving and for goodwill is always in and should be practiced and demonstrated year long. Note our Church Theme for 2012 -- The TRINTY Model of LOVE. Pastor Bob will be emphasizing our theme throughout the New Year. Don’t miss his presentations, which can be caught during Sunday morning worship, with a more detailed presentation and analysis during Sunday evening Bible Studies.
Gear Up for 2012! You are encouraged to join us for all other Bible Studies Series during 2012. Each is open entry / open exit. On February 26th. Pastor Stacey begins a new exciting Sunday evening series about our relationship with the Lord. The scripture that sums up well what she hopes for the class to accomplish is Romans 12:11 - - “Never lag in zeal, but in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” (Amplified Bible) Wow! You know how inspiring Pastor Stacey is. Don’t miss this class!
“ Behold I Stand at the Door and Knock” Pastor Bob encourages each of us to strive for a deeper relationship with Christ Jesus during 2012. “How do I do that?” you might ask. The answer: “5 5 5 !” Spend more time in prayer and in the Word. Pastor Bob reminds us of God’s promise in Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
