Rev. Darius Walden: Objective: To lead the Church of God in my appointed region to its fullest potential; reaching the lost, making disciples, caring for the sheep, expanding the kingdom
Heritage Park Church of God, Taylor, MI 2014-2018
when coming to this assignment, our Sunday School doubled. There were 3 children, no infants, and 1 teen; there are now about 40 infants, children, and teens attending on a regular basis.
The Tabernacle Church of God, Warren, MI 2007-2014
Michigan’s first Church of God congregation was a privilege to pastor for over 7 years. Our morning worship attendance tripled, we added 2 staff members, started 3 churches, and gained national attention with our Prayer Station ministry.
Living Waters Church of God, Sebring, FL 2002-2006
This congregation had to overcome many obstacles, due to the fact that a former pastor had murdered two members. We followed an outstanding couple (Brian & Cathy Yaun) who were entering the Youth Department, as we were exiting. By God’s grace, the church tripled, the missions budget grew from zero to over $20,000, we bought new land, and added three staff members.
New Life Church of God, Oxford, MI 1997-2000
Our church doubled through special programs, and Sunday School. We also had a strong benevolence program.

Faith Walden: Faith was raised in the Church of God Home for Children in Mauldin, South Carolina. Growing up in “the home” gave Faith unique experiences; like having sixty brothers and sisters, and traveling across the state, singing in Church of God congregations. Faith and Darius met in 1983 at East Coast Bible College. Less than a year later, they were married. For 35 years, Faith has worked outside the home to supplement their home, and bless the work of the church. Faith enjoys crafting, decorating, spending time with friends & family, and shopping. Her “sweet spot” of ministry is music, hospitality, and pastoral care. Some of the highlights of Faith’s work in ministry include:
Member of the state music team in Michigan.
Member of the state Women’s Discipleship Board in Great Lakes Region, and chairperson of the board in Michigan.
Developing and leading a community Christmas choir in Union Grove, Wisconsin and Warren, Michigan.
Designing and decorating Christmas in upscale homes in metro Detroit. She has also often decorated for state events for the Church of God in Michigan, and has managed the hospitality room for guests.
Faith is an accomplished vocalist and musician. The Walden’s sing as a family, wherever they go. The greatest joy of Faith’s life is to see her family serving the Lord. All three of their children, and spouses are living for the Lord. Faith has five almost-perfect grandchildren: Greyson, Leeland, Emerson, Oliver, and Jack.
1 Peter 3:18 New Beginnings at SWCC
As the year comes to an end, don’t look back on yesterday’s disappointments, but instead … reflect on and remember all of your many fond Proctor memories, as well as others that you have experienced throughout the years. Look ahead to God’s grace, promises, and blessings that are yet to unfold… Your steps are ordered by the Lord. Keep the faith, and keep on steppin’ with love, compassion, purpose, and with verve!
