The servants who are ready and waiting for His return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, He Himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! Luke 12:37 Heavenly Father, I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that as we go about our day we, our focus would be on You. Help us to view things from the perspective of eternity, and to have an urgency in our hearts to live in a way that is pleasing to You. Help us to appreciate Your presence with us each moment of our day, and to have a joyful anticipation of the day when You will come to take us home to be with You forever. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
For God did not give us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 Heavenly Father, looking from a human perspective, there are a lot of things in this world that can make us fearful. I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that we would not give place to those fears. Help us to determine within ourselves that we will call on You to help us take our thoughts captive. Help us to replace fearful thoughts with the promises of Your word – we are more than conquerors through You, we can do all things through You, in all things You are working for our good, and our future is in Your hands. Thank You that no weapons that are formed against us will prosper when we are dwelling in You. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Behold, I m sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Matthew 10:16 (ESV) Heavenly Father, I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that you would give us the discernment that we need to see things for what they are, and the wisdom to respond as You would respond. Help us be on the alert to any division, discouragement or deception that the enemy is trying to bring. Thank You that You do not leave us to navigate through this world on our own, but have given us Your Spirit to guide us. I pray that we can walk in Your wisdom and that Your gentle Spirit would be found in us today. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothes yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:12-14 (NLT) Heavenly Father, thank You so much for Your abundant grace and mercy. I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that, just as we take the time and effort to put clothes on when we get up and start our day, we would not start our day without coming to You to be clothed by Your Spirit. I pray that as we spend time in Your Word and prayer, we can be filled to overflowing with Your love. Help us to see others through Your eyes, and may the grace and mercy that You show us be reflected by how we treat them. I pray that we can experience the characteristics of the fruit of Your Spirit growing within us, and that it will be evident to everyone that we come in contact with. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.
Revelation 5:9-10 Precious Jesus, You are worthy! You are worthy of our worship, our faithfulness, our service and our sacrifice. I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that we could be mindful that we are not our own, but we belong to You. You purchased us by Your blood and You did it to set us free because of Your great love for us. As Your representatives, I pray that we would be a reflection of that love to all those that we come in contact with. The best way to serve You is to bring You honor by representing You well. I love You Lord. In Your name I pray. Amen.
Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
Isaiah 55:1-2 Heavenly Father, there are so many things that are available in this world that give false promises of satisfaction. People pursue them the way a thirsty man would run toward a mirage in the desert, using up all their energy and yet never being truly satisfied. There is only one source of true satisfaction for us, and that is You. You offer us a peace and a joy that can enable us to be content in all circumstances and there is nothing more satisfying than that. I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that we would not seek after anything other than You to satisfy us. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:7-8 Heavenly Father, I thank You that we do not have to be victims of our circumstances, because our outward circumstances cannot change who we are in You or take away the inheritance that we have in You. I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that You would help us remember that when we are looking to You and relying on You, You are working for our good in ALL circumstances. Help us to trust in You and walk by faith, even when we don’t understand why things are the way they are or are feeling overwhelmed. I pray today not that You would necessarily change our circumstances, but that we can experience Your presence and Your peace within them. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Romans 12:17-18 (NLT) Heavenly Father, I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that you would give us the strength to put these words into practice. We cannot control how people treat us, but we can control how we respond to them. Help us to respond the way that You would respond Lord. Help us to be more concerned with people’s eternal souls than we are with proving our point, having the last word or giving someone a “taste of their own medicine.” Help us to love as You have taught us to love, unconditionally and compassionately. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
So then, my friends, because of God's great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. This is the true worship that you should offer. Romans 12:1 Heavenly Father, sometimes it is so easy to get caught up with the things going on in our lives that we lose sight of how great your mercy and Your love for us is. Please forgive us for this Lord. I pray for myself and all who are reading this today that we can have a fresh realization of Your mercy and Your love. I pray that our response would be to offer our whole selves to You. I pray that in everything we do, no matter how great or small the task, that we can do our best in honor of You. I pray that our agenda today would center around honoring You and serving You above ourselves. You are so worthy of our worship, Lord! I love You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from wordly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when He judges the world. 1 Peter 2:11-12 (NLT) Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for myself and all who are reading this that you adjust our perspective today to see our world and those in it from the perspective of eternity. Help us to remember that there is much more to life than making ourselves at home and comfortable in this world, because this world is very temporary. I pray that we would remember that the lives we live before others have the potential to impact them eternally. Help them be drawn to You by the love and faithfulness that they see in us. I love You Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
